Renewing our commitment to the Rule of Law

Solicitors at Mullane & Lindsay have recently participated in the Opening of Law Term celebrations in Newcastle. Opening of Law Term is a special event taking place at the beginning of February each year. The tradition of celebrating the Opening of Law Term dates back to the 17th century, when it was first observed in England.

It marks the start of a new legal year and provides an opportunity to remember the important role that law plays in our society. Law is the cornerstone of our society, and it is essential to ensure that our legal system is working effectively and fairly. Without law, our society would be chaotic.

The Opening of Law Term is an opportunity for the legal profession and the public to come together and celebrate the progress that has been made.  It also provides an opportunity to discuss important legal issues and to consider how the law can be improved and discuss the challenges that the legal system faces, and to come up with solutions for making it more efficient and effective. The Opening of Law Term is also a time to renew our commitment to the rule of law. It is a reminder that everyone, regardless of their background, deserves to have access to justice.
